So with the summer emerging, our garden plans are coming to fruition …..
Areas of the garden have been dug up – replacing bushes and shrubs with vegetable patches to add to our herb boxes by the entrance of the Kitchen. Our lovely new Kitchen Gardener Emma, with the green fingers we lack, is seeding, planting and potting. Not just in the garden, but behind the scenes, to make this all come together.
But the most exciting development is the SMOKE SHACK. We dabbled at this last summer – but this year it will be in full operational mode. As soon as Rob has completed the project and removed his tool box, Big Bertha the pizza oven will be relit and delicious pizzas will be served on Friday evenings and Sunday evenings from the beginning of May. During the week this will be used for cooking wood-fired joints of meat – absolutely scrummy! We have extended the shack and created an outside dining area – and of course it will be very well heated.
Our GREEN EGG will be used for smoking our poultry, fish and whatever else takes the Kitchen Team’s fancy.
Lots of new garden furniture and snuggly rugs are on their way, but we love the new addition of our family dining style table, which the eversohandy Rob must take the credit for.
And just so you know, The Kitchen Team will be doing a sun dance from May onwards – we can’t guarantee the weather but we can promise a warm welcome and sunny smiles!
