As the colder days creep in, we welcome in the Autumn with a roaring fire, exquisite seasonal food, and a welcoming atmosphere. For those who like to sit outside we provide a stunning setting with heaters, covers, throws and hot chocolate to help warm your cockles!

Autumn brings an abundance of wonderful fruits and colourful vegetables. Emma, our Head Gardener has been harvesting an array of produce from The Kitchen Garden including golden beetroot, sweetheart cabbage, bramley apples and a superb selection of pumpkins, squash and gourd. The garden also boasts wonderful herbs such as rosemary, thyme and sage. Our celeriac, black and curly kale, sweetheart cabbages and carrots are getting ready for harvest, as we tend our purple sprouting and savoy cabbages in readiness for Spring.

Our poly-tunnel is still going strong and a great deal of vegetables are still growing.  This weekend was spent planting micro herbs such as rocket, cress and pansies which offer a beautiful decorative twist on the dishes we serve.

We are delighted to have filled every available space in The Kitchen Garden with herbs, vegetables and fruit trees. Apples, pear, medlar and olive trees are all bearing fruit, along with grapevines to cover The Smoke Shack.

Our Head Chef Dan takes a walk around the veg patch and gardens dally, picking the best produce and serving them that day. Our menus can change on a weekly, even daily, basis to reflect the seasons and our passion for the finest locally sourced produce. Our butcher, award winning Aubrey Allen provides us with the very best in meats including pheasant, rabbit and wild venison which you will often find on our menu.

We continue with our popular Friday curry nights – slowly cooking the curries in our clay oven in The Smoke Shack to bring out the fantastic tastes and flavours.

WE ARE ON THE MOVE

From Friday 9th October we are popping up at the fabulous and spacious Primrose Hill Farm, Arlescote.

We are temporarily closing Farnborough, as our cosy little pub doesn’t cut it for COVID.

So we are joining forces with our friends at Primrose Hill Farm, where it is light, airy, COVID safe and just a couple of miles down the road.
